Samsung affiliates plan a combined 12.26 trillion won (USD 9.15 billion) semiconductor investment, with nearly 8 trillion won (USD 5.99 billion) going to Vietnam and the rest expanding high-end capacity in South Korea. Samsung Electronics will spend USD 4.09 billion on memory chip testing facilities in Thai Nguyen, northern Vietnam, starting production in late 2027. The move keeps advanced manufacturing at home while shifting conventional memory work abroad.
