WHO warns cholera surge in Yemen as conflict escalates

Yemen has reported 8,034 suspected cholera cases and 27 deaths this year, with a quarter in the last four weeks, the WHO says. Cases tripled in three weeks as fighting displaced over 200,000 people. Five governorates account for 92 percent of cases. The WHO has secured only $3.78m of the $31m needed for its 90-day response.
