A study of 485,934 adults in China followed for about nine years found habitual tea drinkers had an 11% lower relative risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. The benefit peaked at roughly 6–8 cups weekly, with black tea showing more consistent links than green tea. Researchers stress the observational findings cannot prove tea protects the heart.
