Meta strikes deal to keep Zuckerberg in California

Meta has agreed a deal with Mark Zuckerberg to stop him leaving California over a proposed one-time 5% tax on residents worth more than $1bn, which voters will decide on 3 November. The agreement lets Zuckerberg sell shares without losing control of the company if he faces a large tax bill. Meta's special committee said keeping him at its headquarters was critical amid intense AI competition.
