Rupee seen sliding to 96 per dollar by January, strategists say

A Reuters poll of 37 FX strategists forecasts the Indian rupee will weaken to 96.00 per dollar by end-January and 96.33 by end-April, reversing recent gains. Higher oil prices and record foreign investor outflows are expected to keep pressure on the currency despite a softer US dollar and RBI intervention. The rupee is down 5% this year.
