Arab-led Joint List backs Eisenkot to form Israel's next government

The Joint List, an alliance of Arab-led parties, said it will recommend opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot to President Isaac Herzog to form Israel's next government. Arab-led parties won a record 19 seats in the 120-seat Knesset in last week's election. With the Joint List's 11 lawmakers and Ra'am's eight, Eisenkot is expected to command 67 endorsements, above the 61-seat majority threshold.
