Paraguay's President Santiago Pena is facing impeachment after the collapse of Ueno Bank, which held about $800m in public funds and served nearly 3 million customers. Regulators placed the bank into resolution after finding risky insider lending and capital below legal limits. Pena, who until 2025 held a stake in the bank's parent company, has requested more time to mount his defence.
