Ladakh MP seeks deferment of LAHDC elections over winter

Ladakh MP Mohmad Haneefa Jan has urged Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to postpone the proposed LAHDC elections, citing harsh winter conditions, seasonal migration and the need for a full revision of electoral rolls. In his letter, Jan said heavy snowfall and road closures would hinder voters in remote areas, and sought consultations with stakeholders before any schedule is finalised.
