Congress donations above Rs 20,000 plunge 75% to Rs 131 crore

The Congress received Rs 130.69 crore in donations above Rs 20,000 in 2025-26, down nearly 75 per cent from Rs 517.39 crore the previous year and its steepest such fall in a decade, Election Commission filings show. A sharp drop in Prudent Electoral Trust funding drove the decline. The BJP collected Rs 6,074.02 crore in 2024-25, nearly 12 times the Congress's tally.
