Salyut 5 Burns Up in Atmosphere 1977

On Aug. 8, 1977, the Soviet Union's Salyut 5 space station deorbited and burned up in Earth's atmosphere. Launched in 1976, it was the final Almaz military reconnaissance station, hosting two crews before being decommissioned due to low propellant.
