Costa Rican diplomat emerges as frontrunner for UN chief

Rebeca Grynspan, a Costa Rican diplomat and former vice-president, has become the leading candidate to become the UN's first female secretary general. In a straw poll, she received 10 'encourage' votes, with only one objection. Her parents were Holocaust refugees, and she would be the first Jewish secretary general.
