Spanish company Kreios Space plans to launch the first satellite using air-breathing electric propulsion (ABEP), which scoops atmospheric air to generate thrust without liquid fuel. This technology could enable sustained operations in very low Earth orbit, improving Earth observation and satellite communications. The test will use a satellite bus from Kongsberg NanoAvionics.
