AI experts may join Territorial Army soon

India's defence ministry is in advanced talks to expand the Territorial Army's mandate to induct experts in AI, information warfare, and cybersecurity. Plans include direct induction at junior ranks and honorary commissions. The Territorial Army, with 44,400 personnel and 59 units, recently operationalised an Innovation Cell and plans a national hackathon.
