Sharks with sensors help track ocean heat and hurricanes

Researchers at the University of Delaware are tagging sharks with electronic sensors to collect real-time ocean data, including temperature, salinity, and depth, along the US East Coast. The initiative aims to map the ocean's mixed layer, which holds heat that fuels hurricanes, potentially improving storm forecasts. The study was published in Frontiers in Conservation Science.
