Solar telescope reveals plasma vortices on Sun

Observations from the world's largest solar telescope, the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST), have revealed tiny swirling plasma vortices on the Sun's surface, linked to the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. These structures, previously too small to detect, could help scientists understand energy and magnetic field flow in the solar atmosphere.
