Ethanol-blended diesel failed safety tests as ethanol sharply lowered the fuel's flash point, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said on Monday. Public-sector oil marketing companies conducted evaluations with labs and automakers. The government has not decided to raise ethanol blending in petrol beyond 20%.
