UNESCO: 2.4 million Afghan girls barred from secondary school

UNESCO reported Tuesday that 2.4 million Afghan girls remain excluded from secondary education five years after the Taliban takeover, calling it a grave rights violation. The agency warned the number could reach four million by 2030 and noted Afghanistan is the only country banning girls from secondary and higher education.
