US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to spend up to $20m on gloves that can deliver electric shocks, according to a Department of Homeland Security note. The gloves, made by Compliant Technologies, can deliver up to 380 volts and are intended for use by officers in Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement Removal Operations. Civil rights groups, including the ACLU, have expressed alarm.
