West Bengal revokes Banga Bibhushan from BJP MP for Netaji remarks

The West Bengal government revoked the Banga Bibhushan, its highest civilian award, from Rajya Sabha MP Ananta Maharaj after he called Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose a 'war criminal' and questioned the Azad Hind Fauj's role. The order, issued Thursday, cited the remarks as inconsistent with the honour's dignity. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had directed police action against such comments.
