Turkiye details defence pact with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

Turkiye's defence ministry outlined mechanisms of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on August 7, including ministerial-level meetings, joint exercises, and deeper defence industry cooperation. The pact, similar to NATO's Article 5, treats an attack on one as an attack on all. Turkiye said it is open to expansion, with Egypt as a potential candidate.
