Back-to-school shoe prices squeeze family budgets

As kids head back to school, rising shoe prices are straining family budgets already squeezed by higher costs for essentials. Prices rose 3.2% in the first half of the year, on pace for the fastest increase in 34 years outside the pandemic. Parents are hunting for deals, buying fewer pairs, or saying no to expensive sneakers.
