Blue and fin whales slowly returning to southeast Atlantic

A study in the African Journal of Marine Science found that blue and fin whales are slowly recovering in the southeast Atlantic, with 95% of sightings since 2012. Commercial whaling killed 350,000 blue whales and 725,000 fin whales in the 20th century. Blue whales remain critically endangered, while fin whales are vulnerable.
