India's oil ministry approved an incentive scheme on August 18 to boost domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connections. Effective September 1, 2026, it offers additional cheaper gas to City Gas Distribution companies for each new billed connection, aiming to cut payback periods and expand PNG access.
