US to pay $850M of $5B owed to UN

The Trump administration has notified Congress of plans to pay $850 million of the roughly $5 billion the U.S. owes the United Nations, including $725 million for the regular budget and $125 million for peacekeeping in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the largest payment since Trump demanded reforms, but Republicans have raised concerns about the plan.
