Congo receives 16,000 Ebola vaccine doses amid record outbreak

The Democratic Republic of Congo has received 16,250 doses of the Ervebo Ebola vaccine, the first of 70,000 promised by the WHO and partners. The current outbreak, caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus, has killed over 2,500 people. The vaccine may offer some protection, though it is not approved for this strain.
