Sugar imports may reach India before Oct 15

Some sugar shipments are likely to reach Indian ports before October 15, though the exact quantity is uncertain, said NFCSF President Prakash Naiknavare. Brazil is the only realistic source, as Thailand faces its own shortfall. The government allowed duty-free imports of 1 million tonnes to curb rising prices.
