AGRA's Green Revolution Is Undermining Africa's Traditional Crops

Two decades of AGRA's Green Revolution have expanded maize monocultures while traditional African staples like millet, sorghum, cassava and groundnuts lose land and investment, researchers say. In participating countries, millet production has fallen 27 percent since 2006 as maize output more than doubled, yet undernourishment rose about 60 percent, matching the continental trend.
