Aadhaar Biometric Mandatory for Subsidised LPG Refills from October 1

Domestic LPG consumers must complete Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) to book subsidised refills from October 1, 2026, the Petroleum Ministry said. As of September 19, 27.43 crore active consumers (89.9%) have already done so. The move aims to ensure subsidies reach genuine households and prevent diversion to commercial use.
