Canadians Back EU Associate Membership Amid US Trade War

Canadians are embracing the EU's proposal for "associate membership" after Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed it at the European Parliament. The plan covers trade, defence, AI, energy and easier work and study rights. An Abacus Data survey found 81 percent of Canadians support closer EU integration, while just 21 percent view the US positively amid the tariff dispute.
