Meloni Plans Burqa, Niqab Ban in Italian Schools

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced plans to ban burqas and niqabs in schools and cap foreign students per class. The measure, to be presented to Cabinet, would also require parents of foreign students struggling to integrate to learn Italian. It needs parliamentary approval within 60 days. Italy is a frontline migration country, and integration is a key issue ahead of next year's election.
