A BBC Eye investigation has found that Moch Subchi Azal Tsani, an Indonesian teacher convicted of sexually assaulting a student at an Islamic boarding school, was secretly released early in August 2025 after serving less than half his seven-year sentence. The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections cited sentence remissions, but could not explain the reduction.
