China has expelled generals Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli from the Communist Party and military over corruption and disloyalty. Both were investigated since January and removed from the Central Military Commission in late August. Zhang was the CMC's second-ranking vice chairman; Liu was its Joint Staff Department chief. The expulsions are part of Xi Jinping's sweeping anti-corruption crackdown.
