20 countries back global AI oversight body

Twenty countries and the EU have called for international cooperation to keep AI under human control, proposing a global institution to set and enforce standards. The declaration, released by Finland's president ahead of the UN General Assembly, urges common standards and reporting of safety incidents. The US and China, the leading AI powers, did not sign.
