Gucci sells 'Made in China' sneakers in break with Italian tradition

Gucci has started selling luxury sneaker models labelled "Made in China", breaking with its Italian manufacturing tradition. Parent company Kering attributed the move to particular technical needs, but analysts warn it could undermine Gucci's high-end image as the brand cuts prices and launches new products to win back middle-class shoppers. Kering shares have slid this year amid a wider luxury slowdown.
