Leaders Push for UN Panel on Global Inequality

Leaders from Brazil, Norway, and Spain are pushing to create a UN body on inequality, modelled on the IPCC, to address the issue as a threat to world security. Germany and Japan have backed the plan, which could be proposed to the UN General Assembly soon. Nobel economist Joseph Stiglitz and others argue inequality needs independent study and policy solutions.
