Malnutrition Common in Paediatric IBD at Diagnosis

A multicentre cohort of 128 children found malnutrition was common at diagnosis of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, affecting 23% of patients and more frequently those with Crohn's disease than ulcerative colitis. Most underweight patients improved during follow up, and baseline underweight was not linked to higher relapse risk.
