SC Gives EC Four Months to Decide TMC Name, Symbol Dispute

The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Election Commission to decide the dispute between rival Trinamool Congress factions over the party's name and 'flowers and grass' symbol within four months. Both factions must file affidavits within four weeks, after which the EC has three months to rule. The EC froze the name and symbol on September 18 ahead of by-elections.
