Trump to Extend Qatar Camp for 1,000 Stranded Afghans

The Trump administration is set to grant a last-minute nine-month extension for Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar, which houses 1,039 Afghans who aided the U.S. war effort or are relatives of American service members. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to sign the diplomatic note before the camp's scheduled Wednesday closure. More than 70% of residents are women and children.
