Fighting in Sudan's Kordofan region has intensified since late 2025, making it a main battleground between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. The region recorded 2,717 attacks, one in five of all attacks since the war began in April 2023, with at least 12,314 fatalities reported. About 8.6 million people remain internally displaced across Sudan.
