The world's oceans are warming twice as fast as two decades ago, absorbing record heat, according to the 10th Copernicus Ocean State Report compiled by over 100 scientists. In 2025 the oceans took in an extra 23 zettajoules of heat, the ninth consecutive record year, while sea levels and acidity keep rising.
