BJP MP and LPU Chancellor Ashok Kumar Mittal has claimed that violent protests at Lovely Professional University were a "highly organised conspiracy" by malicious elements, dismissing viral social media rumours of an assault as false. The unrest, which followed unverified posts on Reddit, led to vandalism, highway clashes, a 10-day class suspension, and a temporary internet shutdown.
