Priest Chris Brain convicted of rape at retrial

Chris Brain, who led Sheffield's Nine O'Clock Service in the 1980s and 90s, was convicted of raping one woman and indecently assaulting three others. A jury at Inner London Crown Court reached the verdicts after a retrial on five counts. Brain, 69, had already been convicted of 17 indecent assaults in August 2025 and faces sentencing later this year.
