The Centre is preparing a revised affordable housing policy likely to be unveiled within six months, CREDAI said at its NATCON 2026 event in Kolkata. The industry body wants the Rs 45 lakh price ceiling removed and replaced with an area-based definition: 60 sq m in metros and 90 sq m in non-metros. Affordable housing's share of residential sales has fallen to around 14 percent.
