Congress demands CEC Gyanesh Kumar resign over 'illegal orders'

The Congress on Monday demanded Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resign immediately, alleging his ability to "execute G2's illegal orders" has made him a liability for the country. Jairam Ramesh's attack followed Supreme Court Justice Ujjal Bhuyan's remarks that any process disenfranchising millions is "intrinsically arbitrary." It comes amid reported objections by two election commissioners over the SIR process.
