Ladakh Launches India's First High-Altitude Snow Leopard Safari

Ladakh launched India's first high-altitude snow leopard safari on Wednesday, with Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena flagging off six vehicles. The SHAN Society and the UT Forest Department run the guided safaris in Rumbak, Shang and Uley, with routes planned across Hemis, Changthang and Karakoram. Officials say it aims to curb illegal off-roading and boost community-based conservation and local livelihoods.
