Poll: Republicans, independents distrust US election integrity

A Gallup survey released Wednesday found only 37 percent of Republicans and 35 percent of independents trust US elections, versus 63 percent of Democrats. Overall, 49 percent of Americans are confident in election honesty, unchanged from 2022. Gallup calls the partisan divide historic and warns it could affect whether voters accept November's midterm results.
