Democrats sweep state legislatures in historic midterm gains

Democrats gained hundreds of state legislative seats in Tuesday's midterms, winning new governing trifectas in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota, and taking the Texas House for the first time since 2002. The party also won governorships in Georgia, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio and Texas, putting it in control of most governorships for the first time since 2010.
