Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his retirement from international football after 23 years, ending a Portugal career in which he scored 146 goals in 234 appearances. The 41-year-old's exit follows a fallout with coach Jorge Jesus, who had left him on the bench and said he was no longer an automatic starter. His last match came on 24 September against Wales.
