Two iconic New Mexico rock formations collapse after heavy rain

Two famous rock formations in northwestern New Mexico, the Alien Throne and King of Wings, have collapsed within weeks of each other after severe storms soaked the southwestern US. Experts estimate more than 20 trillion gallons of rain fell across the Four Corners states and Nevada in late October and early November, with damage possibly reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.
