The Indian rupee jumped 56 paise to close at 93.91 against the US dollar on Friday, its biggest single-day gain since October 12, helped by returning foreign portfolio inflows into equities and a sharp fall in crude prices. The currency touched a six-month high and gained about 1.2 percent for the week, outperforming Asian peers, though RBI dollar purchases near 93.88 capped further appreciation.
